Dead Reckoning

Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse, #11)Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sookie never has a dull life well not after she meet her first vampire anyway and this week in not an exception. Someone attempts to firebomb Merlotte's and Sookie thinks it’s more about a personal vendetta and less about her boss being a shape shifter. Her relationship with Area 5 sheriff Eric is rocky and Sookie knows he is keeping some big secret from her that goes beyond a plan to kill his boss Victor. While cleaning out the attic she discovers her Grams best well kept secret that may or may not have a significant impact on Sookie's life. With murder plots every where, Sookie's only hope is to live long enough to throw her friend Tara a baby shower.

This book starts out with a bang (literally) then gets real slow and then we have a blood bath then gets slow all over again. Not my favorite Sookie book but I didn’t hate the book. I felt like it was a transition book for Sookie, in the next few books Charlaine Harris will be taking Sookie in a new direction and we need to have this book to move forward. This is a book that gives Sookie a chance to really look at her life and decide if its time to make changes. We also see her become more cynical regarding the people in her life. She is begining to see that a number of them have agendas that do not have her best interest at heart.
