Darcy Rhone has just broken up with her fiancée when she discovers he has been cheating on her with her best friend Rachel. Shocked by the discovery that anyone would choose Rachel over her Darcy is sent into a tailspin. And her new boyfriend and baby on the way are not helping her put things in perspective. But after being dumped by her new boyfriend Darcy runs off to London to spend quality time with her old friend Ethan. And love finds Darcy again but is she able to move forward or be stuck in the past.

I am not a fan of Darcy Rhone. In fact you can say I dislike her a lot. So when I started reading this book I was prepared not to like it and I didn’t. All because I didn’t like her character I Something Borrowed. There was nothing Darcy could do to redeem herself in my eyes. Okay she redeemed herself a little bit but I just don’t like her at all. Unlike Something Borrowed I will not be rereading this book in fact I may get rid of my copy of the book.

Mary Alice has a unique job she repairs old amusement park rides and she has returned to her home town to repair The Dreamland amusement park. But Dreamland is not your average park it is the prison to 5 of the most powerful demons in the world. And someone is letting them out of their prison to run amok in the park. Now park personal are dying and Mary Alice along with her new friends will need to stop them before they take over.

I didn’t really like this book as much as other books written by Jennifer Cruise and Bob Mayer. I found it a bit confusing and the story did not appeal to me really at all. I keep reading just to see if it would make sense.

At Risk by Patricia Cornwell

A Massachusetts state investigator Winston is ordered back from training by his boss, the district attorney to showcase new crime initiative called At Risk. She wants to employ some cutting edge DNA testing in a 20 year old murder. But before he can start investigating his boss is brutally attacked, rape and obviously an attempt was made on her life. Winston things it’s not a random event. He things someone is targeting his boss. What he doesn’t know is if it is personal or professional. And things are only getting worse.

I didn’t like this book at all. The characters were not engaging and honestly I found them annoying. The mystery did not appeal to me and I truly didn’t care who was behind everything. I was disappoint in Patricia Cornwell I have in the past enjoyed her books a lot.

The Book of Fate by Brad Meltzer

After being wounded during an attack on his boss, The President of the United States, Wes is a lost man. He stays in a job as the Presidents aide long after the President losses his reelection bid and longer than he should. One night while on a speaking tour Wes sees a man that is believed to be dead in the same attack were he received his disfiguring wounds. Not able to believe what’s going but determined to find the truth Wes sets out to unmask the mystery even if it means exposing his boss. Someone (or 3 someone) don’t want Wes to discover the truth and will do what ever it takes to keep their centuries old secrets save. The more Wes learns the greater his life is at risk along with anyone trying to help him.

This book was not my favorite book. it’s the first book by Metzler I have read. I like watching his show on History Channel where they solve historical mysteries. But like the TV show (that just draws conclusion without resolving much) this book didn’t not seem to have anything new to add to the genre. At first I really enjoyed the book it had a quick pace and I liked the characters. However the more I read the more I felt as if I was reading a book I had already read. The ending picked it back up then the Epilogue ruined the parts I liked about the book. It may seem silly to let 8 pages of a 508 pages book ruin it for you. But it really did I felt disappointed that everyone was going to run off to California now. It seemed like Meltzer was cheating and giving us the "Hollywood" ending. I am not sure I would recommend this book to others. I am going to try another of Meltzer’s books I have heard good things about but unless I find that 1 amazing I am going to skip his books in the future.

Mind Games

Mind Game by Christine Feehan

Dahila has spent her time hiding from people due to her amazing psychic abilities and know someone wants her dead. Nicolas Trevane has his own abilities and arrives just in time to rescue Dahila. This starts an adventure for them both that will only end with them falling in love.

I did not like this book. I usually enjoy Feehans books but this one I found predictable and a chore to read. I do not think I will read anymore in this series.

Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon

When he decides to defend an older couple is friends are mugging he pays with a severe beating by the same friends but just before losing conscious he is rescued by the mysterious Dark-Hunter Kyrin. Just when he thought is life could not get any stranger his classmates start turning into living zombies and eating each other. As Nick teams up with a bizarre band of friends to fight the hoard of Zombies and in the process discovers that he is the last of a line of powerful creatures.

This book is a spin-off of Sherrilyn Kenyon popular adult series about the Dark Hunters. It focuses on Nick Gautier younger years before he became Kyrin's squire. Even though I have read a number of the Dark Hunter books and I am familiar with the characters I felt like I was missing something in the story line. This is meant to be a stand alone series and written for a completely different audience but I couldn’t help feeling confused and that I need to read more of the Dark Hunter series.
